Sleeping Giant Creative
Led by Dannielle Fellenzer, Sleeping Giant Creative is a design studio built on a simple belief: every brand, big or small, has hidden potential waiting to be awakened.
With decades of combined experience in art direction, graphic design, copywriting, and web development, Danni and Kyle bring both artistry and practicality to every project.
Their philosophy is refreshingly straightforward: great design shouldn’t be out of reach. By keeping overhead low and collaboration high, they deliver agency-level quality without the agency price tag. Whether creating logos, print campaigns, or sleek WordPress websites, they empower clients with tools they can use and designs that stand the test of time. At their core, Sleeping Giant Creative exists to make the world a little prettier and to help organizations of every size look and feel bigger than they are.
Danni Fellenzer
Creative Director, 32 years creative experience
After nearly a decade as art director at a local advertising agency, Danni felt she could do more to inspire and impact her clients as an independent designer—thus was Sleeping Giant Creative born.
Though the company has grown in the intervening years, Danni continues to take an active part in every project that comes through the door. As Creative Director, she manages all aspects of strategy, concept, and design—a role she’s particularly suited for, seeing as she has three decades worth of experience in the biz.
Danni’s journey into the field began with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art and Design, one of the country’s hottest (and most humid) art schools. Since then she has continued to hone her creative instincts both at work and in her personal time (she’s been known to dust off her paints and create her own wall art if she can’t find something suitable on her frequent antiquing/thrifting expeditions).
Kyle Smith
Art Director/Copywriter, 12 years agency experience
Kyle may never have intended to end up in the graphic design field, but she finds she’s particularly well suited to it. An artist from the time she could hold a marker in her hand, she’s always sought out opportunities to exercise her creativity, whether visually or through writing. To get PAID to be creative every day…well, she’s living the dream.
Kyle holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Photography (from Indiana University and the Herron School of Art and Design, respectively) and a Masters in Fine Arts from the Glasgow School of Art. Because of the whole English degree thing, she started out as our copywriter, but with all that visual arts experience just begging to be put to good use, she quickly morphed into sort of a designer/writer hybrid—a position she’s been delighted to hold for about eight years, now.
In addition to working at SGC, Kyle also maintains a side hustle as a fine artist and has shown her work in galleries and museums across the US and in Europe.
Brian Deer
Web Development Partner, 22 years development experience
Brian is the digital developer and strategist who brings our web projects to life. He is an expert at solving digital problems like a real-life human, and though he’s fluent in programming languages, he also speaks plain English.
Brian spent years leading the technology team at one of Indianapolis’s fastest growing marketing firms and has a deep understanding of digital development and its role within the marketing-communications ecosystem. He’s a stickler for details but always keeps the project’s larger purpose in mind.
Brian lives to make a difference and prefers to work on projects where he can make a real impact.
